About Me

Welcome to my little spot on the interwebs. I started this blog because, well, I wanted to collect what I know and combine it all in one place. I enjoy occupying my time with several hobbies that include shopping, cooking, reading, playing music, crocheting, traveling, writing, and, most recently, painting. I also get bored around the house and take on projects that end up being too much for me to handle but somehow always turn out awesome and beautiful, usually with the help of my father.

I am a licensed and registered occupational therapist and am receiving my doctorate in occupational therapy. I hope to graduate this summer! I have worked with adults and children in multiple settings.

Mixing work and home life is sometimes like mixing water and oil: they don’t blend. The past few years with school and work have proved to be some of the most challenging years of my life thus far. As I reflect on my scholastic and personal journeys, I have become obsessed with the idea of self-care and taking time during my busy schedule to do the things I enjoy and recuperate in a consistent manner, rather than piling on the stress during the week (or weeks) and then taking a random time to “relax.” I found that relaxing once in a while was not helping my mental health, and that self-care had to be every much of my routine as work and school. Thus, began my journey for the pursuit of balance in a fast-paced world.

Ruby

My dear, sweet “puppy” (still a baby in my eyes!) is almost 5 years old! She is a beautiful mix of Australian shepherd and Collie. She is not the best guard dog, but she is a wonderful hostess, loving on all her guests that come through our doors! She is a unique mixture of elegant and derp. My little Ruby-Roo.

Daisy

The first of my felines, Daisy is also five years old. She is my love cup who always wants to be cuddling on my lap instead of me working on my laptop. She is my little ray of sunshine and the neighborhood’s watch “dog” too, as I will often find her sitting on the bay window looking toward the road.

Fiona

My youngest, and the second feline, is nine months old, and she is EVERY BIT the toddler of the family. This girl….she cute, but she is trouble. She is in everything, climbs on the curtains, plays with all the hair ties, and is very vocal about when I come home late. Nevertheless, she is so loving and adorable and is adjusting well.
